YOUR LIFE BLUEPRINT - A Multi-Dimensional Approach To Holistic Living
An Introduction To The Eight Areas Of Life
Your Life Blueprint is a revolutionary and highly individualized approach to holistic living. It sees life as a web comprised of eight areas of life:
1. SPIRITUAL – your main personality and tools for your life. 2. DESIRES – what you value in life. 3. DHARMA/EMOTIONS – how you help the world/your emotional quotient. 4. CAREER - your professional aptitudes. 5. CREATIVE PLAY - how you find satisfaction in recreation. 6. RELATIONSHIPS – how you relate with others. 7. VITAL BODY –How you best relieve stress and maintain a constant state of restful dynamism. 8. PHYSICAL – your pattern for physical imbalance.
You will have a separate personality that will govern each area of your life, which defines your unique gifts, challenges and potentials – your life blueprint. The eight personality types which can manifest in any area of life are:
The key to integrating this web into a seamless whole is to understand and acknowledge one’s own unique gifts and challenges in each area.
SPIRITUAL PATH/MAIN PERSONALITY
To know one’s spiritual path fulfills the ancient adage “Established in Being, perform action.” The field of spiritual life is like a king amidst his royal family (the other seven areas of life). All family members are subsumed under the king’s power, even while having their own sphere of influence.
Of all the eight areas of living, this area is by far the most important - the king amidst the cabinet. The ancient teachers were very wise - they recognized that people have different strengths of personality. This in turn, leads to different approaches in defining and finding the spiritual goal of life. But today’s religions are quite exclusive, often condemning approaches other than their own. The same holds true for many spiritual teachers and their teachings: they try to give one generic approach - the “best” way. In theory they may honor all paths, but in practice, they violate the multi-dimensionality of the Your Life Blueprint approach.
Your Spiritual/Main personality is the primary way that you express yourself in the world, gives you the most potential for inner growth, and contains all the tools that you need to balance stress in any area of life. There are eight distinct personality approaches to finding the peace within you. The core of these eight paths can be found in every religious and spiritual tradition.

DESIRES
This area of life defines what we seek for temporal fulfillment and happiness. In the Far East there is an adage: “Treat your desire nature as you would a cobra. Give the cobra milk, make it happy, but don’t trust it.” We should use this same approach with our desire nature. Don’t suppress it, keep it happy, but don’t trust it. If we suppress our desire nature, it expresses itself in the most inappropriate ways. The desire nature is a powerful horse which we should ride freely, but which we should also consciously control; otherwise, we will be thrown off and become injured. So, by all means, ride the horse of desire with great vigor and joyfulness, but be alert during the ride. Make sure you are guiding the horse and not vice-versa! Any time there is a conflict between your innermost spiritual/main personality and your desire personality, always choose your spiritual/main personality - it will never disappoint you.
According to all the ancient teachers - when we desire something, seek to fulfill it, and then desire something again - this leads to suffering. It creates an inner friction and insecurity, which can be very detrimental to health and longevity. This is why many individuals suffer a rapid physical decline after losing all their money or possessions, especially if they don’t have a strong spiritual nature which helps to keep everything in perspective. As everyone knows, wealth can be a blessing because the individual who possesses it can buy anything he or she wants. It can also be a curse because each fulfillment is only partial and leads to another pressing desire. Wealthy people often suffer more than the poor because they no longer have the illusion that money will relieve their sense of emptiness. Thus, it becomes important that we learn to become the master of our desires. If we don’t rule them, they will certainly rule us. This is best accomplished through our spiritual nature, which teaches us how to control our desire nature, how to distinguish partial from total fulfillment, and how to achieve total fulfillment.
The balancing tool for any desire personality is non-attachment to the things that are desired.
DESIRE PERSONALITIES
INTEGRATIVE: Positive: desires for leadership, for equality for all, for liberal-mindedness. Negative: desires for control, to get one's own way.

REBEL: Positive: desires to be the rebel, the revolutionary, and to purify society. Negative: desires to be a criminal.
RELATIONSHIPS
This area of life includes our interpersonal interactions with parents, siblings, children, relatives, friends and associates.
Our ability to be sexual and intimate with one special partner is also determined here. Marriage is not part of this; it belongs to the area of life known as physicality/marriage. The personality changes between dating someone and living together/marrying them. This is why some individuals may have a wonderful relationship while they court each other, but a poor one once they start sharing physical space or get married.
When we sense a person is suffering in some way, how often we find that it is due to some faulty relationship or interaction with a spouse, parent, relative, friend, or enemy. Poorly functioning relationships drag us down both physically and mentally, whereas good relationships are catalysts for renewed vitality, bringing a sense of peace and harmony to our existence. Good friends should be cherished above all else.
There are eight basic styles of relating and each person naturally favors one of these styles over the other seven. One style of relating is not better than any other, but in our minds we often try to make it so. The key is to understand and accept who we are in our style of relating, rather than thinking there is some universal norm for everyone to follow, such as “men are like this, and women are like that”.
Sometimes a person’s health begins to improve immediately when a certain relationship ends. This is tangible proof that, in the quest for happy, healthful longevity, we cannot ignore our interactions in the field of relationships.

CAREER When we meet strangers we often ask, almost immediately, what they do for a living. When life is meaningful, because we feel that we have an important role to play in it, then our resistance to disease is strong. When we are bored and listless, then our immunity goes down. Men and women who have the types of careers they can continue on a full or part-time basis, even in old age, are fortunate indeed. So we should not be surprised when we find that career satisfaction is a leading predictor of longevity. Someone who continues to work in a job which they intensely dislike does not understand how harmful this can be to their health and should seek career counseling. Your Life Blueprint is capable of showing you with precision your career path and its various strengths and challenges.

DHARMA/EMOTIONS
When you ask yourself the question “How can I best serve society?” you are asking a dharmic question. The area of life known as Dharma is that which relates to moral, ethical and evolutionary behavior. We can best serve society by knowing our dharma and performing it each day in a selfless manner.
Dharma is the most important factor in determining marriage compatibility. The ancient sages understood why you should only marry within your own dharma. Individuals who have different dharmas expend their energies in different directions; when functioning together, their wholeness is less than the sum of the parts. Those having the same dharma create a wholeness greater than the sum of it’s parts.
DHARMA PERSONALITIES
Giver or Idealist: People of this Dharma are the the priests, counselors and educators of society. They lead the cultural-religious-educational institutions. They give knowledge to society, especially spiritual knowledge. Because of this they do not like dealing with money in any way, and in an ideal world they would be supported in some way so that they were then free to share their gifts with no restrictions. They have the most responsibility in the world in terms of interacting. People will feel that they have learned something just by being around them.
Integrative or Warrior: They are the Protectors in society. They both lead society in an external way, and they protect society. They head the legal-political arm of society. Government officials, individuals in the military, policemen, firemen, doctors, lawyers – all these people are members of the Protector Dharma.
Communicator or Devotional: They are the business class in society. They provide the material resources which allow society to prosper. They lead in the economic arena. They must receive a fair exchange for the services they offer.
Loner: They serve one of the above mentioned dharmas, but not in a servile way unless their dharma is weak. They are very independent people who must learn to serve in a way which does not interfere with their love of freedom and privacy. They know the secret of accomplishing more by doing less.
Rebel: They are the rebels in society who purify society of its outmoded, outdated conventions. They prefer to live on the fringes of society. Gypsies are a good example of this and how they live in contemporary society. They will “serve” one of the other dharmas only in ways they have to, and even then, very independently.
Dharma is tied to emotions because stress in morality and ethics can stimulate emotions.
EMOTIONAL PERSONALITIES
INTEGRATIVE: anger, frustration BALANCING TOOLS: Be around sunlight. Do things where you can shine.
DEVOTIONAL: watery emotions, crying. BALANCING TOOLS: nurture and nourish yourself in calming ways.
WARRIOR: explosive anger which resolves quickly, irritability. BALANCING TOOLS: Do something challenging and exciting.

GIVER: depression, grief, melancholy. BALANCING TOOLS: Volunteer your time. Join a group of like-minded people.
IDEALIST: Jealousy BALANCING TOOLS: Spend time in nature. Utilize any of the five senses.
LONER: fear, emptiness, depression, suicidal feelings. BALANCING TOOLS: Take some time alone. Do something physical in a quiet way.
REBEL: Free floating fear or anxiety. BALANCING TOOLS: Do something different.
Emotions can be balanced with awareness, Bach Flower Essences, sound vibrations etc. The best way of dealing with negative emotions, which are most damaging to our longevity, is through our spiritual/main personality. If we can maximize our spiritual potential, then emotional health follows automatically. Negative emotions are undue attachments to some aspect of our life, and true spiritual training nips these attachments in the bud.
CREATIVE PLAY
How we play, how we recreate, how we enjoy ourselves when not performing worldly duties is dictated by this area of life. This is how we like to “hang out”, either with ourselves or others. It is what we do when we have no other responsibilities to perform. It also indicates our overall level of creativity. This area of life also determines our relationship with children (our own or others).
The word “recreation” suggests that play is necessary to help us restore and regenerate our psychological faculties and physical energies. If we used our spiritual/main personality more effectively, we would not need so much time for play; we would not take everything so seriously and get burned out pursuing goals in such a driven way. However, we live in a materialistic society where people “compete for turf”, and, in the process of doing so, get very tired. Thus, a great need for play arises. But tired people have an overall awareness which is also tired or dull, and, consequently, such people often lack creativity. They make mistakes in how they play: they drink too much or play too hard and, as a result, incur more stress through an activity which was supposed to relieve stress! This is the area of life where most addictions arise.
The creative play area also governs our interaction with children – our own and others. One reason we must learn the art of play is so we can raise our children well. A good parent can enter the world of children through a proper sense of play. When we are unable to play effectively, then there is no safety valve for releasing the constant stress to which the body is subjected to and stores in the nervous system during the course of a week, month or year. This imbalance in the field of creative play can seriously damage our quest for happy, healthy longevity, just as imbalances in any of the other seven fields of living can do so.

VITAL BODY
The vital body, subtler than the physical body, coordinates the flow of energy through the physiology so that we feel comfortable. This body also has an effect on our ability to recover quickly and easily from physical illness (immune system). When our vital body comes under stress and tension, then we can suffer mental stress, insomnia, tension, anxiety etc. Stress can come from physical imbalances and also from psychological and environmental factors. Mental stress can be managed effectively through breathing practices, YLB sound vibrations, geomancy (feng shui) and Bach Flower remedies. YLB provides specific suggestions regarding these stress management techniques in your consultation.
The vital body also governs self esteem/self confidence.
A strong vital body gives individuals the energy and ability to creatively project themselves into any environment. When a person wants to project energy onto the environment in a way which will bring success, influence, popularity, and a good reputation, then the person will use one of the eight personalities for doing so. When someone meets you for the first time they are mostly feeling your vital body personality. When you go for a job interview for example, you can learn to project more of your vital body personality. The vital body is balanced most specifically by how one’s environment is set up. It places great emphasis on eight imbalance types: Heat (Integrative), Cold (Devotional), Lightness (Warrior), Heaviness (Giver), Dryness (Loner), Oiliness (Idealist), Mixed (Communicator) and Mysterious/Mixed (Rebel); and the eight major balancing therapies for these types: Cooling, Warming, Nourishing, Lightening, Oleating, Drying, Mixed and Mysterious.
There are three basic physical metabolic types:
Catabolic (Protein Type) – hyper (fast) metabolism, breaking down (Heat, Light, Dry) Anabolic (Carbohydrate Type) – hypo (slow) metabolism, building up (Cold, Heavy, Oily) Mixed – Mixed Which can be even more effectively broken down into:

BACH FLOWER ESSENCES
Dr. Edward Bach was a British Physician, who began to see disease as an end product; a final stage; a physical manifestation of unhappiness, fear and worry. He therefore, began to look to nature to find healing flowers. Over a period of years Dr. Bach found 38 healing flowers and plants that with the right preparation became the 38 Bach Flower Essences. These Essences are enough to remove all negative emotional problems.
How do the Essences work? The Bach Flower Essences are a safe and natural method of healing. They gently restore the balance between mind and body by casting out negative emotions, such as, fear, worry, hatred and indecision which interfere with the equilibrium of the being as a whole. The Bach Flower Essences allow peace and happiness to return to the sufferer so that the body is free to heal itself.
Your blueprint can reveal the particular essences that help you manage stress and they will be suggested to you.
They can be purchased at most natural food stores.
How do I prepare my Bach Essence formula? To prepare a treatment bottle, fill a one ounce glass dropper bottle with fresh spring water and add 2 drops of each recommended Essence. As preservative (optional) you can use brandy, apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin, 1 tsp. in the treatment bottle.
How do I take the Bach Flower Essences? The Bach Flower Essences can be taken in a 1 once treatment bottle filled with spring water. From the treatment bottle take 4 drops under the tongue 4 times a day until relief is obtained, or two drops in a glass of water and sip at intervals. The Essences can also be taken undiluted either in the mouth, on the skin behind the ears or on the inside of the wrist.
YLB SOUND THERAPY
Using Your Life Blueprint Sound Vibrations
Each personality archetype has its own sound vibration. Your Life Blueprint Sound Vibrations powerfully increase energy in the particular areas of life where they are needed. One or more of these sound vibrations may be suggested based on the stress areas in the blueprint. These can be used at any time, but also a forty day practice can be done, during which the sound vibration is repeated at least 108 times per day, beginning on the particular day related to the personality. Mala beads that are strung with 108 beads can be used to count the repetitions. Holding the beads in the hand, use the thumb to “count” each repetition by touching the bead during the recitation and then lightly pushing the bead away on completion and moving to the next bead, until you have gone all the way around. As an alternative the sound vibrations can be repeated inwardly and outwardly as one goes through the day on and off, without specifically counting. The English is just as effective as the Sanskrit and may be preferred.
